At Forbidden Door, Jon Moxley triumphs in the temporary AEW World Championship

At the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi fought for the interim AEW World Championship.

Forbidden Door, a pay-per-view fantasy match between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling, took place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi for the interim AEW World Championship.

The current champion, CM Punk, who won the championship by defeating “Hangman” Adam Page at Double or Nothing in May, is out due to an injury.

Moxley, Tanahashi, and Moxley competed in the main event to determine who would represent AEW and eventually face Punk when he returns to unify the championships.

When Moxley used his last move, the Death Rider, on Tanahashi, he beat him and won the temporary championship.

Twitter responds to Jon Moxley’s capture of the pro wrestling temporary world title

When Moxley won the title by defeating Tanahashi in a fantasy match at Forbidden Door, Twitter followers had something to say about it.

Moxley used the Paradigm Shift and Tanahashi used the High Fly Flow as their alternate finishing moves, but neither was able to end the contest. During the match, Moxley was shown on the ringside floor with blood coming out of his head.

After hitting Tanahashi with the Death Rider, Moxley won the match and took the interim belt with pride.

An attack by the Jericho Appreciation Society ended Moxley’s party early. This Wednesday, June 29, AEW Dynamite will air a cage fight between Moxley’s stable, Blackpool Combat Club, and Jericho’s outfit. Claudio Castagnoli, the Blackpool Combat Club’s newest member, saved the team just as the odds were against them.

Moxley is the temporary champion right now, and when Punk gets better from his injury, he will face Moxley.
