Brent Musburger is no longer a member of the Raiders’ broadcast staff

It was a pleasant surprise. Brent Musburger, one of sports’ most illustrious voices, is no longer linked with the Silver and Black.

The defending Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams welcome the talented Buffalo Bills on Thursday night, September 3, to kick off the 2022 regular season.

However, the first NFL game of the year will be held in Canton, Ohio. The Las Vegas Raiders take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in the annual Hall of Fame Game.

This year, a legendary player from each team will be honored. Wide receiver Cliff Branch of the Raiders and lineman Tony Boselli of the Jaguars will be honored.

However, one legend will not be part of the radio broadcast team in Las Vegas for that game or the upcoming season.

The legendary announcer, who rose to prominence as the host of CBS’ The NFL Today in the mid-1970s, joined the Raiders’ radio broadcasting team in 2018. His famous “you are looking live” introduction to a show or game he was calling is as well-known as Michael Buffer’s “let’s get ready to rumble.”

So, where does the 83-year-old legend go from here? Musburger responded on Twitter with the following:

“I’d want to express my gratitude to the Raiders organization for providing me with many great memories. Lincoln Kennedy, my broadcast partner, and the radio production crew will be missed. What comes next? Mike Trout is rumored to be considering stepping down as commissioner of his fantasy league. “Never say never!”

So, who will take Musburger’s place in the radio booth? The information is obviously new, and conjecture will immediately commence. Will Kennedy make a comeback as an analyst? Is there going to be a complete overhaul?

Following that, every NFL team’s best draft class

Musburger made every broadcast a memorable experience, whether it was a pre-game program or a game. He has one of the most well-known voices in the industry. He’s been in the public eye for nearly half a century. It’ll be interesting to watch where he goes next.
