Oscar-winning actress Emma Thompson was honored with a damehood in London.
The 59-year-old British star was named a dame by Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, at a ceremony Wednesday at Buckingham Palace.
Thompson wore a teal swimsuit and white sneakers to the occasion, in response to Self-importance Honest. The Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) is the feminine equal of a knighthood.
E! Information stated Thompson joked with William as as he offered her with the consideration. The actress is a longtime buddy of the royal household and cheekily requested the prince for a kiss.
“I like Prince William,” Thompson stated after the ceremony. “I’ve recognized him since he was little, and we simply sniggered at one another. I stated, ‘I am unable to kiss you, can I?’ And he stated, ‘No do not!'”
“It is actually beautiful as a result of I’ve at all times cherished the boys, and I’ve at all times been a long-term correspondent with their dad,” she added, referencing William, Prince Harry and Prince Charles.
Thompson’s husband, actor and producer Greg Clever, 31-year-old son Tindyebwa and 18-year-old daughter Gaia attended the ceremony. Thompson was honored for her contributions to drama.

Thompson is thought for such movies as A lot Ado About Nothing, The Stays of the Day, Sense and Sensibility and Love Really. She’s going to star within the new BBC and HBO sequence Years & Years with Rory Kinnear.
