Jarvis Landry’s new contract demands are out of this world

Jarvis Landry’s New Contract Expectations Are Completely Insane

Jarvis Landry, the veteran wide receiver, is still seeking a new team to play for this season, but with the kind of money he’s looking for, it’ll be difficult.

Jarvis Landry’s free agency is absolutely up in the air right now. Landry is currently unsigned, despite interest from teams, and it’s unknown when he’ll get things done and find a new location to call home.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Landry’s new contract will pay him roughly $20 million per year. With such an astronomical price tag, it’s little surprise that Landry has yet to sign a deal.

Jarvis Landry’s contract rumors in the NFL

The market for receivers has risen as a result of Davante Adams and Tyreek Hill’s massive contracts. Landry has most likely seen the stats for them and calculated that he, too, can demand a hefty price.

Landry, on the other hand, hasn’t come close to duplicating the kind of performance that some of the game’s top wideouts have put up. Landry played in 12 games for the Browns last season, recording 52 receptions for 570 yards and two touchdowns.

Landry caught 72 passes for 840 yards the year prior. He was named to the Pro Bowl in 2019 after accumulating 1,174 receiving yards and six touchdowns. You could argue that if he was looking for a new deal after that season, he was in line for a large salary.

But that was three years ago, and Landry is no longer the same player. Landry is only 29 years old and still has plenty of football left in him, but no team is going to pay him $20 million per year. If he wants to terminate his free agency in the near future, he’ll have to drop his asking price.
