Jesse Rodriguez knocks out Srisaket Sor Rungvisai with a punch

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai is knocked out by Jesse Rodriguez.

In a performance that made him a celebrity, Jesse Rodriguez upped his game to humiliate former super flyweight champion Srisaket Sor Rungviasi via round-eight TKO.

By knocking out Srisaket Sor Rungvisai with a TKO in the eighth round, Jesse Rodriguez, also known as “Bam,” kept going after the older fighters in the super flyweight division. He did this to upset the former champion, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai.

The youngest boxing champion, Rodriguez (16-0, 11 KOs), is 22 years old and made a name for himself with the demolition of former great Sor Rungvisai.

For Rodriguez, everything worked out perfectly. Rungvisai, a native and resident of San Antonio, Texas, faced Rodriguez on June 25 at the Tech Port Arena. Sor Rungvisai was soundly defeated by Rodriguez, either inspired by the home crowd or simply developing into one of the world’s best fighters.

With two reigns as the WBC super flyweight champion, Sor Rungvisai (50-6-1) entered the contest. Before facing Rodriguez, Sor Rungvisai had three victories since losing to Juan Francisco Estrada in 2019.

When Rodriguez destroyed Sor Rungvisai four months after defeating Carlos Cuadras by unanimous decision, he showed that he had grown into an even more potent competitor.

The conflict did not involve Sor Rungvisai. In contrast to Rodriguez, the Thai man, 35, appeared to move slowly. Sor Rungvisai was unable to fathom the speed at which Rodriguez’s hands moved.

Sor Rungvisai had extraordinary hand and foot speed, making it impossible for Sor Rungvisai to time him. Sor Rungvisai’s chin was gradually weakened until the former champion was in grave danger.

With a left hand to the temple in round seven, Rodriguez defeated Sor Rungvisai. Sor Rungvisai stood up and survived the round, but his chin was damaged.

In round eight, Rodriguez put the exhibition to bed. He used a variety of unanswered combinations to pummel Sor Rungvisai. The bout had to be stopped, and Rodriguez was declared the winner by TKO.

Rodriguez put on a performance that made him famous. Although his talent was undeniable, he was so good that, despite his youth, he appeared to be a pound-for-pound great.

The super featherweight division is led by Rodriguez. Despite the fact that there are three more champions, none appear capable of defeating the Rodriguez who defeated Sor Rungvisai.
