Jussie Smollett’s Brother Says He Has Been Placed In Psych Ward At Cook County Jail, Denies He’s At Risk Of “self-harm”

According to Jussie Smollett’s family, the former ‘Empire’ actor has been committed to the Cook County Jail’s psych ward.

Jocqui Smollett, adamantly claiming that Jussie poses a threat to himself, posted to Instagram on Saturday night to say that his brother had been relocated for unclear reasons.

“So Jussie is currently in the Cook County Jail’s psych ward. What’s more alarming is that a note was attached to his paperwork and placed in front of his jail cell today stating that he’s at risk of self-harm.”

“I want to make it clear that he is in no way, shape, or form at risk of self-harm,” Jocqui stated. He wants everyone to know that he is extremely steady, very strong, and very healthy, and that he is ready to face the task that has been thrown at him.”

Jocqui also requests that people use the hashtag “#FreeJussie” and tag the Cook County Jail in their posts.

This comes only one day after Jussie was found guilty of a hate crime fake and sentenced to 150 days in jail and 30 months of probation in Cook County.

Jussie previously maintained that he was not suicidal when he was sentenced. “I am not a suicidal person.” I’m not a suicidal person. I am not suicidal and I am not guilty.

If I achieved this, it means I made a fist in the anxieties of Black Americans in this country for over 400 years, as well as the LGBT community’s fears.

I respect you and the jury, but I did not commit suicide, and I am not suicidal. And you must all know that if something bad happens to me when I go in there, it is not my fault. Your honor, I hold you in high regard. Your decision is respected by me…. “I am not a suicidal person.”
