A brand new cookbook that mixes meals, poetry, images and illustrations highlights 4 Detroit cooks.
“four Detroit: 4 Cooks. 4 Programs. 4 Seasons.” takes the cooks out of their respective kitchens and showcases them cooking in Detroit neighborhoods.
Within the 272-page e book, former Gold Money Gold chef Josh Stockton prepares a winter feast in Corktown. Takoi’s Brad Greenhill cooks a spring meal in Palmer Woods. Supino Pizzeria’s Dave Mancini has a summer season barbecue in Indian Village, and Selden Commonplace’s Andy Hollyday serves an autumn dinner in Boston Edison.
Photographer and restaurateur Joe Vaughn offered the mouth-watering imagery, together with illustrator Don Kilpatrick. Writer Toby Barlow wrote the textual content, which incorporates the poem “Say Hello” by Kresge Fellow Marsha Music.
The $46 e book can be launched Wednesday at Detroit retailer Nora, which revealed the e book, and in addition at noramodern.com. 5 from each sale will profit Gleaners Group Meals Financial institution.
Nora, 4240 Cass, will host a e book launch get together 6-9 p.m. Nov. 18 with appetizers from cooks Greenhill and Mancini.
