Meagan Good Opens Up About Divorce From Devon Franklin: “not Everything Makes Sense To Me Right Now, But I Trust God”

“Not Everything Makes Sense To Me Right Now, But I Trust God,” Meagan Good says of her divorce from Devon Franklin.

@xonecole recently had a Twitter Space discussion with the Harlem cast. The women talked about heartbreak and their sensitivity during the conversation. During their conversation, Meagan Good revealed that she and Devon Franklin are getting divorced.

“With the awareness that at some point, they’ll get to the place that they’re headed to, and then they’ll be finished,” Good said of her previous relationships.

That wasn’t the case with her marriage, however. “It’s a little different in my situation right now because I assumed that would be the last time I did that and that I would be doing this with that person forever.”

She describes the encounter as “the most horrific thing I’ve ever experienced in my life,” but she also describes herself as “optimistic.” I’m still optimistic about the future. I’m still not sure if this is a chapter, but it feels like my next act in life, and I believe God.”

“Not everything makes sense to me right now,” Good said, “but I do trust God overall and I’m excited to see what this next act of life is going to be and what God has in store, and that’s all I can really do,” she added. “But even in doing that, I do have gratitude and so much joy in my heart for the past 11 years that DeVon and I have been together.” All he’s brought into my life and everything I’ve been able to give to him.”

Though Good is looking forward to her future, she is also mourning the loss of her marriage, as one might expect. “I’m still grieving and hurting.” It’ll take a long time, but at the end of the day, it’s made God even more of my lover and husband, and it’s even brought our connection to new depths and heights, so I’m grateful.”
