Roommates, there’s been a new development in the tragic murder case of late rapper Young Dolph, and it includes one of the main suspects who is currently incarcerated.
According to fresh claims, Justin Johnson, one of the guys charged with the murder of Young Dolph earlier this year, was physically assaulted while inside.
According to @TMZ TV, Justin Johnson, commonly known as “Straight Drop,” was assaulted while detained in Tennessee’s Shelby County Jail.
Juni Ganguli, Johnson’s attorney, indicated that his client was on the phone inside the jail’s visitation area when an inmate allegedly approached him and hit him. Although he was physically assaulted, he was not seriously hurt, and there is no known motivation for the attack at this time.
Authorities named Justin Johnson as one of the suspects in the November 17th deadly shooting of Young Dolph at Makeda’s Cookies, as we previously reported. After his name was revealed, a $15,000 reward was offered for any information leading to his arrest.
The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office also referenced a social media post from Johnson’s Instagram page in which he indicated he would turn himself in, but that he never did.
At the time of the social media post, Johnson’s previous offenses were made public, including his arrest in 2017 for a triple shooting at a nearby bowling alley. For the shooting, he received a five-year sentence and was freed early.
Justin Johnson is being charged with first-degree murder and theft of valuables of between $10,000 and $60,000 for the killing of Young Dolph. He was also wanted for violating federal release, which was tied to a weapons conviction.
