According to an interesting post on a Texas football message board, Jordan Addison, a wide receiver for the USC Trojans, may already be unhappy there.
Why would an administrator of Inside Texas make such a claim, as opposed to the majority of Message Board Geniuses postings, which ridicule the nice people who make ridiculous claims on those message boards?
“Addison has been angry in recent weeks since what he was promised hadn’t been carried through,” wrote Gerry Hamilton in a post over the weekend. This offseason, he switched to USC.

At Pitt, Addison already had a solid reputation. His outstanding season and the fact that quarterback Kenny Pickett was a Heisman Trophy nominee both contributed significantly to the Panthers’ winning the ACC.
It makes sense that a player like Addison would switch teams before his last collegiate season, especially with Pickett moving pro and Mark Whipple now at Nebraska.
Addison’s desire to play on a potentially larger stage and take advantage of NIL opportunities was a major factor in his decision to transfer.
If Addison wasn’t already a first-round lock in the 2023 NFL Draft, having a former five-star quarterback in Caleb Williams give him the ball should help. However, it’s said that soon after Addison arrived in Los Angeles, checks started to bounce.
With Lincoln Riley now in charge and the Trojans headed for the Big Ten in a few years, USC may be about to make a turnaround as a program.
But keep in mind that USC has been struggling for more than ten years due to a variety of self-inflicted wounds. Texas might have been an option for Addison in the portal, but we have to question whether the wide receiver was misled by USC.
