President Biden Appoints Taraji P. Henson And Chris Paul To Hbcu Advisory Board

Taraji P. Henson and Chris Paul have been appointed to the HBCU Advisory Board by Vice President Joe Biden

According to the White House, Taraji P. Henson and Chris Paul are among the nine men and nine women President Biden has appointed to the President’s Board of Advisors for Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

The board’s goal is to help the #HBCU Initiative reach its goal, which was reinstated last year.Because of this, “the White House says that the goal is to help HBCUs provide the best possible education for their students and keep them as engines of opportunity.”

Taraji studied acting at Howard University, and in 2018, she founded the Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation.

As a way to remember her father, she set up a foundation that helps African-American students who want to study mental health, helps adolescents in urban schools with mental health issues, and tries to cut recidivism rates for African-American men and women.

Chris has worked hard to expand the Business of Entertainment, Media, and Sports special subjects courses at NC A & T, Southern University, Winston Salem State University, and Clark Atlanta University!

Since his presidential campaign, Biden has advocated for more assistance for historically black colleges and universities.

The administration has committed $5.8 billion in help to these HBCUs through a combination of pandemic relief cash, grants, and debt forgiveness for capital improvements, according to the White House.

However, last year, President Obama asked Congress for more money for HBCUs, but Congress didn’t agree to everything he asked for.
