Aaron Rodgers attributes his mental health to the psychedelic ayahuasca beverage

When asked about his mental health, Aaron Rodgers made a quite unexpected admission about using the psychedelic beverage ayahuasca.

Aaron Rodgers, quarterback of the Green Bay Packers, has shown a strong preference for natural and holistic treatments, as evidenced by his “immunization” against COVID-19 rather than vaccination and his participation in wild cleanses. And it appears that this also applies to how he goes about looking after his mental health.

That doesn’t, however, make his most shocking disclosure in that role any less startling.

Rodgers discussed his use of ayahuasca, a psychedelic brew that contains the hallucinogen DMT, in a podcast interview with Onnit CEO Aubrey Marcus (a supplement firm). He used it to better his mental health and practice self-love, but it also benefited him as a teammate.

“Self-love is, in my opinion, one of the fundamental principles of your mental wellness. Ayahuasca helped me realize how to genuinely love yourself, and that’s what it accomplished for me, Rodgers stated (h/t SI).

I can only fully love others unconditionally when I first love myself without conditions. And what better way to improve my mental health than to go through something similar? “

The current back-to-back NFL MVP added that the ayahuasca process, a tea that has been used for its therapeutic benefits across many cultures for thousands of years, improved him as a teammate and made him a “model of unconditional love,” which is just as crucial as performing well or being a leader.

Despite the fact that some fans like making fun of Aaron Rodgers’ holistic approach to many things, mental health is undoubtedly a serious issue, so it’s good to see that the Packers star has made progress in that area.

But given the NFL’s long-standing drug policy and the frequency with which players have been suspended for marijuana use, it’s stunning that his use of a hallucinogen led him to his conclusion. In this case, it is unquestionably important to note that.
