Lori Loughlin Walks the Red Carpet for the First Time Since the College Admissions Scandal
Lori Loughlin has been back on the red carpet for the first time since she was caught up in the famous college admissions scandal.
The 57-year-old Fuller House star was in Los Angeles on June 18 for the DesignCare 2022 Gala. According to the HollyRod Foundation’s website, the event benefits “compassionate care to those living with autism and Parkinson’s disease,” which was founded by actress Holly Robinson Peete and NFL quarterback Rodney Peete.
Lori wore a cerulean blue, long-sleeved dress to the event and was all smiles. Her simple silver purse, earrings, a bracelet, and matching heels completed her appearance.
The actress has generally stayed out of the spotlight since her release from prison in December 2020. In February, she was seen with Kym Douglas, Corey Gamble, and Tammy Gustavson at Kris Jenner’s Galentine’s Day gathering.
Lori and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty to conspiracy charges in May 2020 after their two daughters, Olivia Jade, 22, and Isabella Rose, 23, were reportedly paid to be enrolled in the University of Southern California’s boat squad despite not being rowers.
After serving two months in prison, the actress was freed in April 2021, while her husband served five months.
As a result of the cheating scheme, Lori did not complete season five of Fuller House, and she and the Hallmark Channel parted ways. When Hope Calls, a spin-off series of When Calls the Heart, aired in December 2021, and she made her acting comeback.
Olivia and her older sister both came to their mother’s rescue during a conversation on Olivia’s podcast, Conversations With Olivia Jade, in November.
Olivia expressed her dissatisfaction with the media’s portrayal of her mother, calling Lori “the most incredible mother on the planet.”
Continuing, she said, “That was perhaps the most difficult thing I’ve ever had to do.” When I read about her, it was annoying and made me angry.
“I don’t believe anyone who’s ever worked with Mom can say anything negative about her because she’s honestly the sweetest person alive,” Bella continued.
