Mo’nique And Lee Daniels Make Amends On Stage After 13 Years

After a 13-year silence, Lee Daniels and Monique made up on stage in Staten Island on Friday.

Yes, you read that correctly, #Roommates! The two took the stage together, with Lee Daniels formally apologizing to Mo’Nique.

The good news doesn’t stop there, either! According to Deadline, Mo’Nique and Lee Daniels will collaborate on the Netflix thriller Demon House,’ after ending their dispute on Precious.

Lee recently worked with Mo’Nique in the 2009 picture Precious, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. She will take over for Octavia Spencer as a social worker who assists a family through a series of exorcisms. Due to a scheduling difficulty, Octavia had to withdraw out.

You may recall that Mo’Nique claimed Oprah and Lee Daniels were to blame for her exclusion from the industry back in 2019. Mo’Nique claimed it was because she didn’t participate in the film’s award-season promotion, which she claims wasn’t in her contract.

Although Lee Daniels, Oprah Winfrey, and Tyler Perry have all denied blacklisting her, it’s worth noting that Mo’Nique hasn’t appeared in any significant TV or film projects since. Mo has also claimed that Tyler Perry did not publicly back her, despite the fact that she claims he informed her privately that she was not in the wrong.

Demon House is based on a series of exorcisms that affected Latoya Ammons and her three children in Gary, Indiana in 2011. Andra Day, Glenn Close, Rob Morgan, Caleb McLaughlin, and Aunjanue Ellis will star alongside Mo’Nique. Are you looking forward to seeing the Netflix thriller with your roommates?
