Vanessa Hudgens returns to East High after appearing in High School Musical 2

The actress visited East High School, which served as the setting for the High School Musical series, and shared a video of her visit on Instagram on June 25.

Vanessa, 33, was walking around outside the school in Salt Lake City, Utah, while the song “Breaking Free” from the famous Disney Channel original movie played. Vanessa was wearing hot pink shorts, a black crop top, and sneakers.

“Do you remember in kindergarten how you’d meet a kid and know nothing about them? Then 10 seconds later you’re playing like you’re best friends because you didn’t have to be anything but yourself,” Vanessa wrote as the caption for the video.

Vanessa’s adored puppy, Darla, traveled with her as well.

In the 2006 Disney Channel original film High School Musical, Vanessa portrayed Gabriella Montez, the new student who develops feelings for Troy Bolton, the team’s basketball captain (played by Zac Efron).

She returned to the part the following year for High School Musical 2, and in 2008 for High School Musical 3: Senior Year, the first movie in the series to have a theatrical release.

Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, starring Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett, is now set in East High School.
