Vanessa Hudgens presented the first half of the night, which was televised live from Barker Hangar in Los Angeles on June 5, and was dedicated to written films and television.
After viewers saw their favorite stars win prizes for the finest in film and television, Adams took over the UNSCRIPTED section of the awards program, which began at 10 p.m. ET/PT to recognize the stars of reality television.
Chris Evans, Awkwafina, Rebel Wilson, Billy Eichner, Jenna Ortega, Jay Ellis, and Sydney Sweeney were among the night’s presenters.
With seven nominations, Spider-Man: No Way Home was the most nominated project of the night, followed by Euphoria with six nominations and The Batman with four nominations. Two new categories were added to the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2022: Best Song and Here for the Hookup.
Bethenny Frankel received the Reality Royalty Award in the second half of the evening. The Skinnygirl founder was recognized for her work on The Real Housewives of New York and its spin-offs, including Bethenny Ever After, Bethenny & Fredrik, and The Big Shot with Bethenny.
During the night, Jack Black was honored with the Comedic Genius Award.
In 2021, the cast of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation won the award for the first time at the UNSCRIPTED ceremony.
