Collin Sexton’s future is discussed by a Cavs executive

Koby Altman, the President of Basketball Operations for the Cleveland Cavaliers, talked about Collin Sexton’s future with the team.

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ season came to an end with a loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the play-in game. However, now that their season is over, the front office must make some decisions, one of which concerns Collin Sexton’s future.

Sexton will be a restricted free agent, which means the Cavaliers will be able to match any offer he receives.

At an end-of-season press conference, Cleveland Cavaliers President of Basketball Operations Koby Altman claimed that Sexton deserved to stay in the city.

“He was the beginning of not only the rebuild, but also the culture that we have now,” Altman said of Sexton. We assigned him a difficult task.

We’ve had four straight finals, and now we’re back to square one. We needed a location that thrived on a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and someone who genuinely wanted to stay in Cleveland, Ohio, and help us return to our former glory. He epitomized all of that, and he continues to do so now. “

According to Cleveland.com, Sexton wants to continue his career in Cleveland.

“I want to be in Cleveland,” Sexton stated again. “I love the organization, I love my teammates, and no matter what happens, I know Cleveland will be there for me.”

I know this is the location that helped me get to where I am now, and I know I want to remain a part of this winning culture in the future.

I believe that simply being able to be at the start of it aided us in getting to yesterday and where we are now. Cleveland is one of my favorite cities. “I’d like to be here.”

Altman doesn’t care that Sexton only played in 11 games because of a meniscus tear in his left knee in the 2021-22 season. He still thinks he’s important to the team.

Both Sexton and the Cavs’ front office appear to be on the same page, but fans will have to wait and see if the two can reach an agreement.
