In Tuesday night’s game against the Padres, Giants coach Antoan Richardson was ejected. Mike Shildt, according to Richardson, used racially charged words toward him.
Richardson, the Giants’ first base coach, made himself accessible to the media after the team’s 13-2 victory to explain his side of the tale.
The 38-year-old claims he was shouted at with racially charged undertones by Padres assistant Mike Shildt, and then ejected by a white umpire.
According to Richardson, he shouted, “You need to control that motherf***er.” “I went up to the top step and said, ‘Excuse me?’ at that point.”( I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard what I did.

That remark, Richardson believes, was directed towards Giants manager Gabe Kapler, as if to imply that Kapler required complete control over his property. It’s natural why Richardson reacted in the way he did if that was Shildt’s purpose.

Richardson said he was not an instigator in this encounter.
When he was ejected, Richardson paved the way for Alyssa Nakken to become the first female on-field coach in MLB history. While improvement was made on the field, Richardson and the Giants believe Shildt’s tone and perhaps feelings under the surface are a legitimate issue worth looking into.
