During his visit to the LSU football program, Joe Burrow met five-star quarterback Dante Moore

Joe Burrow, a former LSU football standout and current starter for the Cincinnati Bengals, is helping the Bayou Bengals land five-star Dante Moore’s commitment.

Moore paid an official visit to LSU this weekend, and Burrow was there. While there is a new regime in Baton Rouge with Brian Kelly taking over for Ed Orgeron, the 2020 Heisman Trophy winner may be the best spokesperson for all things LSU football these days. Burrow, like Moore, grew up in Big Ten territory. He’s expected to assist in bringing the five-star down to the SEC.

During Moore’s official visit to Baton Rouge this weekend, Burrow and Moore were pictured together in front of a group of people.

Dante Moore vs. Joe Burrow: Who is the five-star quarterback prospect?

Moore is ranked No. 5 nationally, No. 3 quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, and No. 1 overall prospect from Michigan, according to the 247Sports Composite. With 40 official offers, the Detroit native is considering LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, and Penn State. While he currently has no leader, he has two official visits scheduled: LSU this weekend and Oregon on April 29.

Though it would make sense for the Detroit native to remain in the Midwest, LSU and Oregon both have a strong chance of landing him.

Dan Lanning may be an ace recruiter taking over in Eugene, but Kelly’s track record in Baton Rouge suggests he’ll get things back on track quickly. It all boils down to Moore’s preference for which conference he wants to play in.

While there isn’t a bad choice among the five he prefers, it’ll be difficult to beat the familiarity of playing night games in Death Valley.

Despite being one of the main pillars of SEC football, LSU is not hesitant to recruit players and appoint head coaches from outside of its geographic stronghold. In the end, the Tigers are more concerned with winning than anything else.

Moore may choose to sign with another school, but having Burrow show up for his formal visit to LSU is a major thing.
