As you can see, freshman star Paolo Banchero approached Krzyzewski to refer to him as the goat, but his head coach laughed it off.
Duke ended the first half on a high note, with Trevor Keels nailing a buzzer-beating three-pointer to put the team up 45-33 at the break. The Razorbacks trimmed the Blue Devils’ lead to 53-48 early in the second half, but the Blue Devils pulled away for the victory.
AJ Griffin, a freshman, led the Blue Devils in scoring with 18 points (7-for-9 from the field, 2-for-3 from the 3-point line).
Banchero scored 16 points, grabbed seven boards, and dished out three assists. With 12 points (6-for-6 from the field) and 12 rebounds, Mark Williams recorded a double-double.
Duke is currently scouting its opponents on Sunday. They’ll face either the No. 15 Saint Peter’s Peacocks, a Cinderella story that has wowed the crowd, or the No. 8 UNC Tar Heels, their bitter rivals.
The Blue Devils are two wins away from sending Coach K into retirement with their sixth national championship, regardless of who they face.
