Fans of the Atlanta Braves are overjoyed. Sean Newcomb has been assigned to a task
For the Atlanta Braves and left-handed pitcher Sean Newcomb, things haven’t gone as planned. During the 2022 season, Newcomb has been terrible, and the World Series champions have had enough.
The Braves have announced that Newcomb has been designated for assignment, putting an end to this experiment. Newcomb was once a promising player for the team, but fans have been screaming for his dismissal for some time.
Sean Newcomb has had a difficult time with the Braves
Newcomb had made three appearances for Atlanta this season, none of which lasted more than 2.2 innings.
He had pitched five innings this season, allowing four earned runs. For those keeping score at home, that’s a 7.20 ERA. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Atlanta fans are ecstatic about the recent news.
Atlanta’s start to the season hasn’t gone as planned, as the Braves are 5-7 and in third place in the NL East standings.
The Braves had a lot of buzz going into 2022, but no one saw this happening. They startled baseball by winning the World Series in 2021, and fans are hoping for a repeat now that Matt Olson has joined the team.
If that occurs, Newcomb will no longer be a member of the team attempting to embark on a memorable run. Only time will tell whether or not he is claimed by a new squad.
