Mets and Nationals fans are upset because their team’s game is the first to be broadcast on Apple TV

The quality of the MLB broadcast on Apple TV isn’t even close to satisfactory for fans of the New York Mets and Washington Nationals.

The New York Mets and Washington Nationals (together with the Houston Astros and Los Angeles Angels) were among the first teams to be televised on Apple TV, and it appears that fans aren’t impressed.

For those who are unaware, MLB and Apple are launching a new broadcast option for baseball fans this season. However, it does not appear that everything is proceeding as planned.

People are generally dissatisfied with their overall experience.

People are dissatisfied with the product they are receiving. The whole thing appears clumsy, and there are several faults that need to be resolved. Fans who would like to be at least vaguely familiar with the announcers calling the game are, of course, unaware of who is calling the game.

Any other #mets fans thinking about keeping APPLE TV on mute and putting Howie on instead?

Tonight I’ll help broadcast the Mets-Nationals game on Apple TV+, the first time I’ve ever done anything at all like that. Which is, frankly, surreally cool.

When I told my parents about it, my mother — diehard Mets fan — said: “Oh, I hate when it’s not Gary, Keith, and Ron.”

So, obviously, it’s not the best first impression someone could hope for. It could probably be a lot better than it is now. But, who knows, perhaps things will improve and Apple TV will figure out how to connect with baseball enthusiasts.

Hey @MLB if you’re gonna try and do something different with your broadcasts, maybe instead of putting this trash broadcast on Apple TV that is crashing you should just end blackouts instead.

K? Thanks.

The Apple broadcast booth for this Mets/Nats game is a sin. #unholy

This Apple TV MLB product is the worst broadcast in the history of organized sports. Any level. How is this even possible??? 😂😂

Not into the Apple TV + carrying MLB games. Nope. Put them back on cable please.

While they’re doing it, they might as well figure out how to make the service more streamlined and accessible to more people.

But it’s still unclear whether any of that will happen. It’s also unclear whether baseball fans will give the Apple TV broadcasting team and the people behind the scenes a genuine chance to do so.
