Paige Bueckers led UConn past Indiana and into the Elite Eight in what appeared to be pre-injury form
The Indiana Hoosiers were a unique challenge for the UConn Huskies, but Paige Bueckers was a big part of the Huskies’ progress to the Elite Eight.
Paige Bueckers, unlike the Texas football squad, is unmistakably back.
Bueckers has been back from injury and able to play for UConn for a little while now, but she appears to be back to her previous level of performance. The Bueckers’ ability to produce at a high level is clearly beneficial to the UConn Huskies.
Bueckers scored 15 points in UConn’s excellent 75-58 win over the Indiana Hoosiers, tying her with Christyn Williams for the game’s highest scorer. During her 33 minutes versus the Hoosiers, Bueckers also had two assists, a rebound, and a steal.
With the Huskies chasing another national crown, Bueckers is just coming into shape.
Paige Bueckers helped the UConn Huskies advance to the Elite Eight
During her first season on the UConn campus, Bueckers was nearly impossible to stop. The Bueckers averaged 20 points per game and were instrumental in UConn’s outstanding season.
Unfortunately, the Huskies’ star has had to overcome a difficult injury, so this year hasn’t been as memorable as last.
However, if Bueckers is able to return to her pre-injury form, UConn might be virtually unbeatable. UConn is already difficult to beat, but with Bueckers playing at a high level, few teams will be able to keep up with the Huskies.
