The main event of Bellator 282 will feature Gegard Mousasi vs. Johnny Eblen.
For casual MMA fans, Bellator 282 will not be a star-studded affair, but only a fool would pass up a card with deep talent and far-reaching implications.
In the main event, Gegard Mousasi and Johnny Eblen will compete for the Bellator middleweight championship.
The defending champion, Mousasi, is 12-1 in his last 13 matches, including victories over Uriah Hall, Chris Weidman, Rory MacDonald, Douglas Lima, and Austin Vanderford.
Mousasi’s last fight was against Vanderford. Vanderford’s run of not losing in MMA ended, but he kept his title.
He now has to contend with Elben, another undefeated prospect. Elben, like Vanderford, hasn’t fought anyone on Mousasi’s level yet, so the fight should reveal Elben’s true abilities.
The middleweight title fight isn’t the only fight on the card; the final two fights of the bantamweight grand prix quarter-final are also on the card.
Brennan Ward, Cat Zingano, Alejandra Lara, Cody Law, and Brent Primus are some other names to keep an eye on.
