Drew Barrymore felt pleased to be present at Britney Spears’ wedding.
Britney’s picture-perfect wedding to Sam Asghari, which she attended with Selena Gomez, Madonna, and Paris Hilton on June 9, was one of the lucky few who got an invite.
Drew is now sharing details of the event with her followers, and it appears that the whole thing reminded her of her previous royal role as Danielle in the 1998 film Ever After: A Cinderella Story.
Drew remarked on Instagram one day after attending the event in Los Angeles, “What I learned from Ever After is that we must rescue ourselves while still wanting the fairy tale.” “And that’s exactly what Britney did!” says the narrator.
The actress seemed to be talking about Britney’s recent court case, in which she won the right to end her 13-year guardianship in 2021.
“I couldn’t be happier for her intrepid trip!” Drew said with a photo of the bride.
Britney gushed about the E.T. star in her own Instagram post, proving that the love was mutual. The singer tweeted, “So many beautiful individuals came to our wedding and I’m still in awe,” before calling Drew “my lady crush.”
Britney also expressed her admiration for Selena, stating that she is “much prettier in person if that’s possible.” She said that she couldn’t find the words to thank them for coming to the ceremony.
Donatella Versace, who designed Britney’s wedding gown, also commented on the gathering of influential women. She captioned a photo of the A-listers, “Iconic women supporting THE iconic lady.” “Congratulations, Britney,” they say. “We adore you.”
Based on other photographs from the night, Drew may not have been far off with her fairytale reference. “The crew that turned our house into a dream castle were great,” Britney said. To complete the Cinderella dream, they even had a horse-drawn carriage on hand.
