Jay-Z was willing to walk away from the NFL partnership over the halftime show, according to Snoop Dogg.
Mary J. Blige, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, and Eminem delivered us the first hip-hop-themed performance during the Super Bowl LVI halftime show, which was deemed a performance for the culture.
With Snoop Dogg’s Crip Walk and his all-blue bandana outfit, which many may link with the Crips street gang, Snoop Dogg claims Jay-Z is to blame for the show’s authenticity.
In an interview with Elliot Wilson, the 50-year-old said that Jay Z, the NFL’s 2019 partner, issued an ultimatum to the league. Either the show’s performers were permitted to stay faithful to their identity, or he was reportedly terminating his contract with the NFL.

“When I got offstage, Jay was the first one to come to the dressing room. Kevin Liles, the CEO of the 300 Entertainment label, was present. Jay was on FaceTime with Kevin Liles, who was trying to show him where we were. So he came down and hugged me as soon as he walked in,” Snoop recalled.
