Chris Rock joked about Jada Pinkett-Smith being in “GI Jane 2” because of her shaved head during his presentation of the Best Documentary Feature prize. Pinkett-Smith has been outspoken about her baldness.
In retribution, her husband, Will Smith, got up from his seat and marched up to the stage, striking Rock, then saying, “Keep my wife’s name out of your f**king mouth,” all of which was censored on American television.

Soon after, Smith won the Best Actor award for his portrayal in “King Richard” and apologized to the Academy with tears in his eyes, but he did not mention Rock.
