Bill Maher is chastised by Whoopi Goldberg for comments he made about COVID-19.
When it comes to Whoopi Goldberg, the award-winning actress is not afraid to say what she thinks. After calling out Bill Maher for his disrespectful comments regarding COVID-19, Whoppi’s name is trending on Twitter today. Bill made jokes on his HBO show “Real Time” on Friday that Whoopi Goldberg and others didn’t like.
“I don’t want to live in your paranoid world anymore — your disguised, paranoid world,” the comic remarked. You go out — it’s pointless at this point. “They scan your head like a cashier, and I’m a bunch of bananas,” he says, giggling. “You’re the bananas, not me.”
Whoopi Goldberg made it clear on this morning’s broadcast of ‘The View,’ that the comments were not amusing. “That’s not really humorous to those who have lost their kids, family members, or beloved friends to this,” Whoopi said, “Listen, nobody on the globe really wants to go through this.” This isn’t something we’re doing for the sake of sexual pleasure. This is what we’re doing to safeguard our loved ones.”
“You don’t have to do anything,” she added, “just remain away from everyone.” I’d like to point out that some young children are unable to receive vaccinations. Many individuals are unable to be vaccinated, so you’re playing Russian roulette with their life.”
While Whoopi’s name continues to trend online, MSNBC national correspondent Joy-Ann Reid expressed her displeasure with Bill’s remarks. I’m with Whoopi tweeted the correspondent. It’s not a joke or an annoyance that 860,000 people have died. It’s tragic, and it continues to happen.
Workers in the healthcare industry are overworked and fatigued. I’m sure they’d love to be “over it.” But they’re not.” Did Bill go too far with his joke, Roomies?!
