Honey Boo Boo claims she and Pumpkin were ignorant. Justin Stroud marries Mother June
The news that Mama June had wed her partner, Justin Stroud, in a private ceremony in March shocked admirers in June. Evidently, fans weren’t the only ones who were taken aback.
Two of the 42-year-old reality star’s kids, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, 16, and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, 22, said in an interview on July 11 that they were unaware of the marriage until their mother revealed it to them.
Lauryn told E! News, “We weren’t aware of it.” Mama June denied what Lauryn said, but Lauryn said she got a “receipt” in the mail that showed her mother had applied for a marriage license.
I recently asked her about it. She contested it. We were astonished when she eventually announced, “Oh, I got married,” she continued.
Honey Boo Boo said that her mother’s repeated promises that she would never get married again also made the surprise more important.
Because Mama was adamant that she would never get married, it really caught me off guard. But my mom is definitely different today, “Alana reflected.”

After she and her ex-boyfriend Geno Doak were arrested for drug possession, Alana’s mother gave temporary custody of her to Lauryn. This made things rough between Lauryn and Alana.
Lauryn got full custody of Alana in April and was officially named the child’s guardian.
In a statement on June 13, Mama June justified the court ruling and claimed Alana “chose” to live with her sister. “People are confused about the custody issue. It is not as though someone “lost custody.”
On Page Six’s Virtual Reality, she revealed that interim guardianship is something that is done annually in the state of Georgia. “[Alana] had been with [Lauryn] in my addiction,” she said. You can make a decision when you are 12 years old, so there.

She also provided a relationship update. “I do speak to her and I do see her. We do talk to each other, “the mother of four said.” Therefore, there was no difference. The only difference is that she doesn’t always sit next to me at my house.
Alana, who first gained notoriety on TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, has seen her own love life flourish. In the sixth season of Mama June: Road to Redemption, she introduced her family to Dralin, a 20-year-old man, and now they are dating.
Alana’s boyfriend, who is Lauryn’s husband, appeared to be accepting of him and offered him the customary speech of a protective brother or father: “The only thing I want is respect and you treat her really, really well.” He threatened to break your neck if you didn’t comply.
