J-Rod, a rookie for the Seattle Mariners, is off to one of the finest starts of his Major League Baseball career.
He’s already proven to be a valuable asset for Seattle, and as the fourth AL player age 21 or younger to smash 25+ home runs in his rookie MLB season, he joins an elite group.
Joe DiMaggio, Ted Williams, and Eddie Murray are joined by Rodriguez.
Rodriguez, although being a complete rookie in the majors, is also seen as a leader in Seattle.
Julio Rodriguez, a rookie for the Seattle Mariners, became a leader after one season
The youthful rookie has served as a leader to his teammates in the dugout, said MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer.
Shortly after Paul Sewald surrendered a home run, Rodriguez reportedly approached Sewald, who was seen “disheartened [with] his head firmly in his hands.” He inspired Sewald and “promised him Seattle would storm back and triumph.”
He said, “Even whenever someone is down, we all kind of have that brotherhood that, ‘If you don’t do it, I’m going to help you out,’ ‘I’m going to raise you up,'” letting his teammates know that he stood by them in the dugout. What we currently have on this team is very awesome.
He undoubtedly serves as a leader on and off the field. He’s enjoying a stronger rookie season than most, and while there’s always space for development, he’ll probably only get better.
