Charlie Freeman and Dansby Swanson’s reunion will crush Braves fans’ hearts

With the Atlanta Braves visiting Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers, Charlie Freeman reconnected with Dansby Swanson.

Atlanta Braves fans got to learn first-hand what it is like to not have Freddie Freeman on the team. On Monday, the Braves flew to Los Angeles to take on the Dodgers, where they got to witness Freeman in his new uniform in person.

Freeman enjoyed a reunion with his former teammates prior to the game. That was not the only reunion to take place. Freeman’s son, Charlie, was on the field and recognized Braves shortstop Dansby Swanson. Charlie raced to Swanson to offer him a hug.

Yeah, that had to hit Braves fans right in the feels.

During the game, Freeman had an early impression of his previous side. In his first at-bat against the team that drafted him, Freeman hit Huascar Ynoa deep to left field to give the Dodgers an early 1-0 lead. Not only was that his first home run against the Braves, but it was also his first homer of the season.

After the Braves won the World Series last season, Freeman hit unrestricted free agency. What sounded like a guarantee did not become reality, as both sides were not in agreement on a contract.

The Braves turned to trading for Matt Olson, who they inked to an eight-year deal extension.Freeman then signed a six-year, $162 million contract with the Dodgers.

What an emotional night for Braves fans.
