Packers fans are perplexed by Matt LaFleur’s message about David Bakhtiari’s status

Matt LaFleur, the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, gave a brief update on left tackle David Bakthiari.

Due to a knee injury incurred the previous season, the Green Bay Packers were without left tackle David Bakhtiari for the duration of the 2021 season.

He only played in one game before not being able to play against the San Francisco 49ers in the Divisional Round.

Bakhtiari did not participate in organized team activities this summer, but head coach Matt LaFleur remained unconcerned.

It’s been two weeks since I received that message. On June 14, LaFleur gave a pretty cryptic update on the Pro Bowl offensive tackle’s training camp status.

Matt LaFleur gives a hazy status update on David Bakhtiari

On May 31, LaFLeur expressed his optimism that Bakhtiari would be able to participate in training camp. Packers fans are now scratching their heads, unsure if the left tackle will be ready when the season begins.

Bakhtiari tore his ACL late in the 2020 season, causing him to miss the team’s run to the NFC Championship Game.

While it was expected that he would be ready to return by the middle of the 2021 season, he was forced to endure yet another medical treatment.

The Packers have already lost Billy Turner, Dennis Kelly, and Lucas Patrick this offseason. Not to mention wide receivers Davante Adams and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who were released.

Green Bay supporters will undoubtedly be concerned about Bakhtiari’s status as training camp approaches, but that is still over a month away.

Anything can happen, but LaFleur’s words will not instill much confidence in the team’s supporters.
