Dennis Graham, a Memphis native who formerly played drums for Jerry Lee Lewis, must have given Drake some of his musical abilities.

Drake asserts that Dennis was somewhat of an absentee father after he and Sandi divorced. Despite their back and forth and seeming estrangement, the two appear to have patched things up. Drake sings in the song “From Time.”

“I’ve been dealing with my dad, speaking of lack of patience / Just me and my old man coming back to fundamentals / We’ve been talking about the future and time that we wasted,” “I’ve been dealing with my dad, speaking of lack of patience.”

Due to how close they had become recently, Drake teased his father a little about a tattoo Dennis has of his son’s face. In August, Drake joked about the body art image on his Instagram page.

“@TheRealDennisG In the caption of his Instagram photo that featured the tattoo, Drake stated, “I was just sitting here thinking, why do you do me like this?

We are family.” Dennis retaliated by saying he’s had a ton of tattoo artists try to make it look good. He responded, “Hahaha I had 16 people attempt to straighten this out. They’re hurting me. I love you… and miss you,” before jokingly adding, “I miss you.” Read More
