Johnny Depp has agreed to a seven-figure contract extension to continue as the face of Dior’s Sauvage perfume

The “Pirates of the Caribbean” star has reportedly signed a multi-year, seven-figure contract to continue serving as the face of the fashion house’s well-known Sauvage cologne, according to TMZ.

On Monday, the official Dior Beauty Instagram profile posted pictures and videos captured by renowned photographer Greg Williams of Depp backstage during one of his rock concerts in Paris.

“Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage,” reads one caption. In the comments area, a lot of supporters expressed their support for Depp and Dior.

According to TMZ, Williams organized a photo shoot before and after the performance that would appear in upcoming Sauvage advertisements.

Since Depp first teamed up with Dior in 2017, Sauvage has surpassed well-known women’s scents from Chanel and other top brands to become the world’s best-selling perfume, according to Business of Fashion.

The partnership, however, hasn’t been without its detractors. In 2019, accusations of cultural imperialism were made in response to a Sauvage advertisement featuring Depp and featuring imagery of Native American culture.

Dior supported the actor after he lost a libel case against a British tabloid for branding him a “wife-beater.”

Depp’s lawsuit against his ex-wife Amber Heard has dominated recent news, but Dior is sticking to its contractual commitment to the actor.

According to the Wall Street Journal, this strategy looked to be effective because many supporters bought Sauvage from Sephora and Ulta websites to demonstrate support during the court proceedings.

After the “Edward Scissorhands” actor was found guilty in court in June, Dior even aired Depp’s Sauvage commercial on Fox during primetime, according to TMZ.

Due to online leaks of unsealed court records, Johnny Depp is currently in the news in the midst of all of this. Many of Depp’s malicious details are included in it, including illicit correspondence with Marilyn Manson, drugging the former Ellen Barkin before intercourse, and much more.
