Twilight: New Moon Almost Had Taylor Swift in It

The Twilight Saga has been going on for more than ten years, and anyone who was around at the time can recall how insanely popular the movies were at the time. Nobody was immune to the Twilight fever, which resulted in some of the most ardent movie fans ever.

Even famous people were very interested in it; a prime example is Taylor Swift, who was a major Twilight fan and urgently wanted to get a role in the sequel, Twilight: New Moon.

Chris Weitz, the director of New Moon, just shared the complete tale of how Taylor’s agent asked for a role, no matter how small, for Taylor in the New Moon movie because she was a tremendous fan. Chris summarizes the narrative as follows:

My agent at the time told me, “Taylor Swift would like to be in this movie, not because of you, but because she’s a Twihard.” She will work in the cafeteria, dining room, or somewhere else. But all she wants is to be in this film. “

Chris Weitz, the film’s director, refused Taylor’s request because he believed that her star power was too strong and would distract from the action in any scene in which she appeared, despite the fact that Taylor would have clearly accepted anything in exchange for the chance to be a part of the movie. The way he put it was as follows:

Nobody will be able to process anything until around five minutes after Taylor Swift appears on the screen. I also feel terrible about it because I thought, “Wow, I could have been hanging out with Taylor Swift.” She must have thought, “Who the hell is this jerk?” However, there are occasions when you make choices believing that they are best for the movie. “

The singer subsequently ended up dating Twilight’s top dreamboat (if you’re team Jacob) Taylor Lautner for a number of months before the two called it quits, despite her hopes of making an appearance in New Moon being dashed.
