Levelk Boards Sundance & Berlin-selected Coming Of Age Drama ‘girl Picture’

‘Girl Picture,’ a Sundance and Berlin-selected coming-of-age drama, has been picked up by LevelK.

LevelK, a Danish sales business, has acquired the rights to the Finnish coming-of-age movie Girl Picture ahead of its Sundance and Berlin premieres.

The film has been selected for Berlin’s Generation program, as well as Sundance’s World Cinema Dramatic Competition, where it will be the first Finnish feature to be screened.

Aamu Milonoff (Eden), Eleonoora Kauhanen, and Linnea Leino feature in the film, which is directed by Alli Haapasalo (Love and Fury). Three young women on the verge of becoming women are the focus of the story. Two of them experience the earth-shattering impact of falling in love on three successive Fridays, while the third starts on a mission to find something she’s never experienced before pleasure.

The screenplay was written by Daniela Hakulinen and Ilona Ahti. Leila Lyytikäinen (Life after Death) and Elina Pohjola (Citizen Jane Productions) are the producers. The Finnish Film Foundation, Yle, and Nordisk Film are all supporting the project.

Nordisk Film will distribute the film in the Nordics, with a release date of April 14, while LevelK will handle overseas sales.
